Supportive and Engaged Mentor

I am Dr. Rondiya, and I strive to be a supportive and approachable mentor for my M.Tech, PhD, and Postdoctoral team members in various meaningful ways. I believe that building strong relationships beyond the lab is essential for a thriving research environment. For example, in May 2025, I organized a trip to a resort with all my team members, which was a wonderful opportunity to bond outside of work, we have photos and memories from this and several other occasions. I often take tea breaks with my students, sometimes twice or even three times a week, as these informal moments provide a relaxed space for us to connect, share ideas, and talk about challenges. Whether during these tea sessions or at other times, I am always available to listen to students’ problems and support them in any way I can. When a paper is accepted or we achieve success, I prefer to celebrate by going out for dinner with the team because I believe students should enjoy and appreciate every small or big achievement in life. I also encourage my students to travel home and spend quality time with their family and friends, understanding that a healthy work-life balance is crucial for sustained motivation and well-being. Overall, I create a friendly, non-intimidating environment where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas, asking questions, and discussing any concerns openly.
