About

The PASF offers a wide variety of Equipments and Tools for advanced semiconductor packaging, offering Design Services in Hardware, Embedded Firmware, Mechanical Design and Modelling and the projects are for Technology demonstration and Prototype development. More than 100 Researchers of IISc Use Packaging and Systems facility regularly and work on finding solutions to apply new technology in the field of MEMS/Sensors. The Users are various academic and Industry partners. After Device Fabrication we help to singulate wafers, package and build a complete ecosystem of making the devices functional with the team design services and capabilities. We recognize that the quality and timely service of the scientific results are of the highest significance in research. We therefore strive to ensure that our equipment are in fine shape always and that they are calibrated periodically by using traceable standards.

Vision

The vision of PASF at CeNSE-IISc is to build new areas of expertise and indigenisation of all technologies as far as possible offering cost effective; time conscious solutions and design, Test and reliability services to all its stake holders.

Mission

PASF in CeNSE-IISc mission is to design and develop intelligent systems based on new Technologies developed at CeNSE-IISc such as Nano Sensors of Various Types. The process involves understanding new technology, developing prototypes, build pilot product and scale it to production through technology transfer.

Values

  • Engage with researchers & users to serve their needs with utmost sincerity and dedication.
  • Work in an ambience of openness and transparency, with commitment to be accessible and responsive to IISc, the academia, and other laboratories in the network.
  • Create strategies and insights through engagement with collaborating industries, in-house experts, and domain experts at IISc.
  • Be accessible to share expertise and resources, while respecting the confidentiality of the work of users/researchers and the networking laboratories.

Our values are inculcated from the founding members of CeNSE, who strove hard to infuse a sense of collaboration and commitment to high standards. First and foremost is the intention with which the centralized facilities (NNFC, MNCF, Packaging Facility, CoNE) were created at CeNSE and opened to the Indian research community in an almost missionary mode, committed to service. We also draw inspiration from many faculty members from across the IISc campus, their contemporary research traditions, and their partnership with the global academia and industry, which strives to tackle both “blue sky” and “down to earth” problems. Our source of inspiration also comes from public funding agencies which have ensured that we have all resources for the establishment and running of this singular facility.
